Planetary Nebula CRL 2688 (Egg Nebula) in Cygnus

The tiny object was detected by Fritz Zwicky on a POSS plate about 1964, assuming a pair of galaxies. In 1975 it was rediscovered as a protoplanetary nebula on an infrared survey. The bipolar object is known as the Egg Nebula.
